Jay-Z Nixes Rumored Beef With Chris Brown

Jay-Z cleared up recent rumors that he has beef with Chris Brown and plotted against the singer to ensure he was not allowed to perform at this year's BET Awards. In a recent interview with radio personality Tim Westwood, Hov said that although he has no problem with Brown, but if he did he would address him face to face. "That's the silliest rumor I've ever heard," Jay said of the alleged debacle at the BET awards. "You don't comment on rumors. It's just so silly. Let me categorically deny that. That's not even my style."If I have a problem with Chris Brown, I have a problem with Chris Brown. I haven't said anything [about Brown] live or behind the scenes. I don't agree with what he did and that's it. That's the end of it. As far as not letting him perform on the BET [awards]? That's stupid. I wouldn't do that. That's not how I deal with my problems." The rumors of the alleged rift stemmed from Brown's assault on former girlfriend Rihanna, who Jay affectionately calls "little sister." Brown has since released a public apology for the incident.

JoJo Simmons, Soulja Boy Exchange Twitter Jabs

Choose your words wisely if you going to be an avid Twitter user. If you don't, they may become misconstrued and create a beef between yourself and someone else -- just ask Rev. Run's son JoJo Simmons.Earlier this week, JoJo criticized Soulja Boy's lyrical skills on his twitter page. "Lyrically Soulja Boy ain't [too] dope, but musically he's a genius this [joint] right here kinda catchy," JoJo said.Soulja Boy was not a fan of JoJo's comments -- despite the compliment tucked in the tweet -- and took to his Twitter page to respond. "Lyrically I ain't dope?...'Kinda catchy' Watch your mouth bruh," Soulja Boy advised.

Michael Jackson Tried To End 50 Cent/ Game Beef
The Game remembers when Jackson called and offered to mediate between the rappers.
By Jayson Rodriguez

"We Are the World" and "Heal the World" were undoubtedly two of Michael Jackson's greatest songwriting and humanitarian achievements. But if MJ had been able to cool off the tension between 50 Cent and the Game, as the California rapper claims he attempted to a few years back, then Jackson could have won the Nobel Peace prize. He certainly would have earned it.
Game told MTV News that during his beef with 50, which began in 2005, Jackson actually called the Compton MC and offered to play peacekeeper between the two former friends.
"I was on tour in Canada, sitting in my room, cutting my hair," Game told MTV News, recalling Jackson's phone call. "I was messing my hair up. Then my road manager knocks on my door. Boom, boom, boom. He told me, I got MJ on the phone. I ran and snatched up the phone."
On the other end of the line was a British gentleman who connected the two musicians. A nervous Game said Jackson started the conversation by talking about music and complimenting him on his records like "Hate It or Love It" and "How We Do." Then the King of Pop asked about the rapper's children. But before the phone call ended, Jackson touched on one last topic, a sensitive matter at the time.
"He got to this one thing that makes me laugh, man." Game explained. "He said, 'I don't know how you're gonna feel about this, but I want to ask you something. I don't want you to judge me, but I don't really know everything that's going on between you and 50. But I want to be the middleman behind you putting this situation to bed.' "
Jackson wanted the two to meet, with him serving as a mediator, according to Game. The rapper mentioned Jackson's outreach in his new song, "Better on the Other Side," a tribute to the late King of Pop that features Chris Brown, Diddy, Boyz II Men and Mario Winans. A video for the track, featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the record, is set to premiere online on Tuesday (June 30), Game said. On Friday, 50 Cent also released two Michael Jackson tribute tracks, "Respect It or Check It N---a" and "Where You Are."
Although 50 and Game eventually put their differences aside, Jackson wasn't involved. Game said MJ wanted all three of the artists to collaborate on a song together. But, unfortunately, nothing ever came about.
"It just never manifested," Game said.

Miss Independent "Dawn Richard" -Rather than remain damaged, Dawn Richard is taking her career from breakups to Renaissance woman levels.-

Days after D. Woods was expelled on Making the Band, she remixed “Swagger Like Us” with her group Girls Club, taking shots at you and the rest of the group. Any response?I didn’t even listen to the song. I’m not giving that any thought. I don’t have issues with anyone. If people want to write records about other people, that’s totally on them. I’m not going to address any negativity, but I wish the fans could observe that, because that tells a lot about people.
We’ve got some instrumentals already loaded, in case you change your mind. You know how I’m going to respond? I’m going to write number-one singles on other people’s albums, so I can continue with my life and this business. That’s what I came to do.
We’d bet your comic book heroine would take a more aggressive initiative. Tell us about Danity Kane Comics.I’m so proud of it. My brother and I, we just hustled and got it together. It’s Sex and the City meets Sin City, a story about a singer who gets sent to Earth to save the world, because she has the key to unlock Earth’s finest treasure. But there’s a villain in all of this, and he wants to use her voice for the wrong purposes. So it’s the battle between good and evil but with a sexy twist, because it’s a girl who kicks ass and takes names—and looks sexy while doing it.
Way to put the “strip” back in comics! If you were a superhero, what would your powers be? We got dibs on x-ray vision.I’d be able to listen in on people’s thoughts and control those thoughts, to manipulate them to do whatever I wanted. Preferably men [laughs], because that shit’s fun.

50 Cent Releases Album Same Day As Jay-z (Comp??)

In a move that seems all too familiar, rapper 50 Cent has announced that he will release his fourth studio album the same day Jay Z’s Blueprint 3 is released.According to YoRaps.com a source in the G-Unit camp has revealed that 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct will be released on September 11, the exact same day Jay Z’s Blueprint 3 drops.Almost two years ago, 50 Cent released his third album Curtis the exact same day as Kanye West’s Graduation. Ironically, the albums were also released on September 11. In an interview with Funkmaster Flex two years ago 50 Cent shared his thoughts on releasing an album the same day as Kanye. "I hope they see and understand what's getting ready to happen," 50 Cent said. "I'm coming September 11. If Kanye comes that day, he comes that day. That'll be great. I think his people are smart, I think he's smart too ... I think they'll move. But I'm coming September 11." 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct has been given several release dates, but has been pushed back every time. Most recently, 50 Cent released his War Angel LP and spoke to MTV about the LP."This material, I felt it fits the summer," 50 Cent explained to MTV. "The whole vibe. I used the War Angel title for it [because] I read a comic book through Marvel Comics. The guy who created it, he's done 'Nightmare on Elm Street' and illustrations I'm familiar with. He created this concept: War Angel. God created these angels to create war. It's necessary on some level. I took the concept. It's kinda from the perspective I grew up under.”

The Game Apologizes To 50 Cent and Interscope

In a recent interview with MTV News, The Game relayed Michael Jackson’s attempts to end the beef between him and 50 Cent. Although the rappers eventually laid the feud to rest (without Jackson’s help) the tension between the two still remained. However, The Game has finally taken it upon himself to give a formal apology, not just to 50, but to the whole Interscope label.
“For 50, I’m just gonna apologize to him, just as a man,” he told MTV. “It has nothing to do with music, or beef, or nothing like that. It ain’t about being the bigger man. He can take it and say, ‘Game is apologizing,’ ‘Game’s a sucka, he’s apologizing.’ I’m apologizing for me to him, to [Dr.] Dre, to Jimmy Iovine, to Eminem, to all the fans. Because if you think about what Interscope was when we were gellin’, man we were it. We were an unstoppable force.”
He explained that while he was a member of G-Unit, there were some things he needed to do “for my career to have longevity, and for me to survive in Hip Hop music,” and this may have played a part in the dissolving relationship between himself and 50 Cent. He also expressed some regret that G-Unit and the Interscope label did not get to experience the success that it could have had, potentially.

Jody Breeze Speaks On Solo Album

“I can’t even put it into words [how they've prepared me],” noted Breeze. “If you’re in the industry, you can really just think everything’s a-OK, because there’s a case to everything. When I first started, I was only 19 years old. I didn’t really know anything about the industry…when I came into the game, it was like coming out of high school [and] into the pros, like some LeBron James shit. By me coming where I come from and immeadiately be in the lime light, it showed me a lot because there’s more to the industry than just rapping a making songs, as far as the paper work and the business side.”Later, he added, “[Before I signed my deal with Sho Nuff,] I had never been in the studio. I never really knew anything about the industry…to get me a solo deal, I could’ve went anywhere, but they told me to do a label deal [instead] and that really fucked me up. Instead of signing me to the label, they signed Sho Nuff as a label deal, so that way, if I wanted to do anything or get something done, they had to go through Sho Nuff instead of me being signed directly to the label. That kind of fucked me up, too. Block [Russell Spencer, Block Ent. CEO] went through the same thing with Boyz N Da Hood. Instead of signing directly to Bad Boy, he started his own label and got a kick off of that…I was the centerpiece for a lot of peoples’ success, but being that I was humble and I was young and I didn’t really understand the game, I put my career on hold for these niggas.”Breeze also discussed the issue of age in the modern Hip-Hop industry. Having first began his career at the age of only 19, Breeze feels that age is irrelevant if a certain artist has a song able to set the charts on fire. While this may be good for the individual artist, Breeze sees it as sometimes detrimental to Hip-Hop.“I think the game has turned into whoever has this one song [will make it],” said the Georgia rapper. “It doesn’t really matter how old you are. If [the industry heads] feel like they can make money off of a situation, it doesn’t matter how old you are…Hip-Hop used to be like where you had to [have gone] through something for people to even listen to you. Today, it’s like you don’t even have to have done [anything] in your life to just come up with a song [and] all of a sudden you’re somebody.” "REPORT BY: HIPHOPDX"

Jay Z’s “D.O.A.” Increases Auto-Tune Sales

While Jay Z’s “D.O.A” calls for the death of the popular audio software program Auto-Tune, the fad is far from dead.Antares Audio Technologies, the company that created Auto-Tune, revealed to the New York Times that sales of Auto-Tune have in fact increased since the release of Jay Z’s “D.O.A.”.“The Jay-Z controversy is great,” Marco Alpert, vice president of marketing at Antares, told the New York Times. “We couldn’t buy P.R. like this.”Originally created to correct a singer’s pitch, Auto-Tune has become heavily used in Hip Hop and R&B. Artists such as Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and T-Pain have benefited tremendously from Auto-Tune and although Jay-Z is hoping the trend comes to an end he is in no way putting down the artists who have profited from it."The guys who did, did it great," Jay-Z explained to New York’s HOT97 weeks ago. "Let them guys do it. They got their little niche. Let's move on."

Young Jeezy Disses Drama, Drama Responds....

....Ever since a brawl between Young Jeezy's and DJ Drama's camps broke out at a screening of Notorious in Atlanta earlier this year, tension has been building between the rapper and the deejay. In an upcoming interview in XXL, Jeezy made his discontent with the popular deejay official."Drama just started acting like a bitch. Drama wanted to be Khaled, but he didn't want to help nobody," said Jeezy. "He just changed, period. Look at his crew. The same niggas ain't around him. You ain't never been in no streets. I could never have no beef with a nigga like that. He's a cornball. "You made millions off my mixtapes, to the point where the fuckin' feds scooped you up for bootlegging. I never even made the money he made off of Trap or Die or Tha Streetz Iz Watchin, because they were selling and distributing them and making money," elaborated Jeezy. The Snowman continued, alleging that Drama charged too much for a mixtape that was going to feature one of Jeezy's artists. "We will never do a mixtape together," announced Jeezy. "I didn't charge that nigga for [contributing a verse to the song '5000 Ones,' on Drama's official debut]. But then when I need [a tape for one of my artists], and you want to charge me $20,000?"Fortunately, Jeezy has no intention of physical violence. "I'll slap the shit out of Drama. He knows that. He wasn't loyal," said Jeezy, "But me putting my hands on that man ain't gonna make him respect what I'm saying. I'm just not gonna fuck with him anymore."DJ Drama presumably responded to Jeezy's statements yesterday (July 30) via his Twitter account (twitter.com/DJDRAMA)."Damn what did I land to? Lol ... it'll get addressed people, don't believe them lies," wrote Drama.
